The most exquisite original 1930s Art Deco engagement ring that just oozes gatsby glamour! The central Carré Cut Diamond is a particularly rare find, the stunning step cut facets give an elegant shimmer of light and offer that geometric shape that the Art Deco period is so renowned for. The central Diamond is secured with a four claw setting to each corner of the stone. Each shoulder is also full of character and is set with a Baguette Cut Diamond, Two Single Cut Diamonds and then leading to an Old Marquise Cut Diamond to the top of the shoulder, which are all bezel set.
Carré Cut Diamonds are a fusion between the Asscher Cut and Emerald Cut shapes, similarly faceted to an Emerald Cut but square rather than elongated and with the corners in tact rather than tapered as with an Asscher Cut Diamond. These step cuts were at the pinnacle of development and fashion during the Art Deco era, with their linear appearance and clean lines.
Made in Platinum and stamped to the band Plat & 10% Iridium. There is a faint engraving of the initials CETJ inside the band. The ring is American in origin.
The central Carré Cut Diamond has been calculated in the setting and is estimated to weigh 0.95 Carat. VVS Clarity and H-I Colour. The most spectacularly clean Diamond with no visible inclusions under 10x magnification. The Baguette Cut Diamonds weigh approximately 0.10 Carat each, the Single Cut Diamonds weigh approximately 0.01 Carat each and the Marquise Diamonds weigh approximately 0.06 Carat each. Total shoulder Diamond weight being estimated at 0.36 Carat. VS Clarity H-I Colour.
